Typically the drug is delivered intravenously or by subcutaneous infusion. Home infusion patients who receive this type of service, usually have a severe condition and cannot be treated effectively by oral medications and need to receive this therapy in their home.

Home Infusion Therapy is a safe and cost-effective alternative to placement in a nursing home, or an extended hospital stay. Patient may maintain their normal daily activities; all while being serviced in the comfort of their own home.

> Antibiotics
> Antifungals
> Antivirals
> Intravenous immune globulin (IVIG)
> Chemotherapy
> Pain management
> Parenteral nutrition

What is TPN ?

Total Parenteral Nutrition or TPN is the medical term for infusing a specialized form of nutrient through a vein to treat or prevent malnutrition. TPN usually given to patients who cannot or should not get their nutrition through eating

TPN goal is to treat or prevent malnutrition. TPN typically used for people whose digestive systems either cannot absorb or cannot tolerate adequate food eaten by mouth.

Depending on patient’s condition, TPN may include a combination or some parental form of

> Sugar and carbohydrates (for energy)
> Proteins (for muscle strength)
> Lipids (fat)
> Vitamins
> Electrolytes (sodium, potassium, chloride, phosphate,          calcium, and magnesium)
> Trace elements (zinc, copper, manganese, and chromium)

What is IDPN ?

Intradialytic Parenteral Nutrition or IDPN is Nutritional support therapy for patients on hemodialysis struggling with sufficient nutrition. IDPN replaces some of the nutrients lost during dialysis treatments.

IDPN improves patient’s nutritional condition and overall health. Each IDPN patient is different and may find improvement in body weight, energy levels, leaner muscle mass, strength, appetite and in the capacity to fight infection. The IDPN solution has no taste or smell and is given at the same time as the dialysis treatment.

The drugs have a FDA Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) in place since it requires training, certifications, or other requirements that must be met in order for the drug to be administered.

Multiple Sclerosis
Rheumatoid Arthritis

Growth Hormone Disorders

What is Sterile & Non-Sterile Compounds?

The major differentiating factor between Sterile compounding techniques and Non-Sterile compounding techniques actually has to do with how the medicine will be administered, rather than how it is compounded.

Sterile Compounding

Sterile compounding medications carry a high risk of infection or other medical problems, so they are compounded according to sterile rules and regulations. These medications can be directly injected into the patient or can be inserted into their eye.

Non-Sterile Compounding

Non-Sterile compounding medications are safe and performed in a closely monitored environment using very strict rules and professional guidelines. They are prepared in a form of a pill to swallow, applied as a topical treatment to the skin or inserted under the skin.
